Welcome
Welcome!  Rice Coast Films, Inc. is a nonprofit organization in South Carolina, dedicated to creating films that explore the remarkable culture that grew from our indelible link to the West Coast of Africa.  Since 2003, we have made two location filming trips to Sierra Leone, shot in Rhode Island and South Carolina, and created two short mini-documentaries to accompany museum exhibits.  But our biggest and best works are yet to come!

“Priscilla’s Homecoming” is a one-hour documentary in progress.  Our focus is so simple, but the impact it will have is complex – and important.

In 1756, a 10-year-old girl from Sierra Leone was kidnapped, bound, and sold into slavery.  In 2005, her seventh generation descendant repatriated her spirit with a documented journey home from Charleston to Sierra Leone.  How we connect these two events, and what they mean to America, is our story.
